    Quick question...
I have my Simon XT set to report to my cell phone. When I do a test my phone rings but it does not recognize my touch tone from my phone. I have tried both with the short and long tone from my cell phone.

When I try to dial in to check status from my cell phone it asks for the security code...I try to enter it and it does not work. Then it make a sound like you are calling a fax machine.

I have tried dialing in with a land line and it works fine.

Has anyone had any luck with a cell phone.
What phone models work?
What tones work?
Is there any work around for this?

I have tried to ask the SafeMart online assistant but I have gotten no response

Thanks much

Who is your provider and what phone do you have? I had a customer have this problem on the Alltel ( now Verizon) with a Samsung. He was able to set the tone to a longer sound and it worked. Also, what kind of signal strength do you have?

I use a Samsung Juke phone provider Verizon.

I tried to use the phone in 2 locations at home and at work. My work has terrible reception. That is where I tried to call in to the system. My home has good reception. That is where I had the Simon call my phone and I tried to call into the system.

I used a my phone at work (landline) and I was able to get into the system.

I have tried with both the "Normal" and "Long" DTMF Tones.

Is there a trick with the tones like holding them down for a certain amount of time? I have tried to hold each number for a longer tone and I have tried just pressing the numbers quickly...with no luck.

Do you know if I contacted my Cell Provider if they would have any ability to help. Or do you know the exact kind of tone needed to be recognized by the Simon?

Thank you for looking into this...The reason I bought this system is so I could monitor it myself via cell phone. It is the only way for me to monitor the system.   A half dozen houses in my Neighborhood have been broken into in the last year and I am quite concerned about my personal securtity.
