![]() Topic: Purchased Home With Existing Alarm, HOWTO Upgrade?Posted: 14 Oct 2009 at 5:33pm |

Hi All,
We recently purchased a home with an existing hardwired Ademco alarm system. The previous owner did not use the system as it was installed more than 10 years ago and they have no documentation on the system. The system appears to be powered up, and the motion sensors are powered and display a red light when motion is detected, so I believe parts of the system are somewhat functional. What I believe I am missing is a keypad, as none seems to be present in the home. I would like to get the system working and functional with a modern keypad, but use the existing wiring inside the home. Attached are a couple pictures of what I believe is the main control unit. Any ideas on what the best method is for modernizing the system and installing a keypad? Thanks in advance! ![]() ![]() Edited by e12pilot - 14 Oct 2009 at 5:35pm |
