I'm a newbie and apparently hooking up my used camera system isn't as easy as i thought. I have 4 cameras, Samsung Digital Multiplexor SDM-081, a Sony Time Lapse VCR SVT-168E, and a monitor.
When I have the cameras hooked to the multiplexor and output sent to the monitor, everything works as it should. When I hook up just one camera to the VCR and the output to the monitor, everything works as it should including recording, playback, etc. The problem is when I have the multiplexor and vcr hooked up at the same time. I hooked up the cameras to the multiplexor, then run a cable from the multiplexor to the VCR and output to the monitor, I get no video. The VCR does not record any of the cameras, nor will it display anything on the monitor. I thought that I could just hook it up like a home entertainment system. What am I doing wrong? There are lots of places for low voltage wires to hook up to on the back of both the VCR and the multiplexor. Do I need to use these? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
