Just a quick note folks, keep an eye out for LiveWatch, our web-based/GSM-powered monitoring program. No need for a landline phone, and VOIP is not a problem. LiveWatch uses a GSM Communicator in your Simon 3 system and allows your system to wirelessly communicate to the central station and allows you to log in online and view system status, arm and disarm, and your event log. Stay tuned for details and pricing

    Claude,

I am confused with the livewatch system. Do I need to get a cellular line for LiveWatch to work or will the GSM Communicator in the Simon 3 be enough? Tx. Dalyc

The LiveWatch program require you to have a GE Simon 3 and the GSM communicator, as part of the $25.00 per month, the monthly cellular service is included.

Claude - Thanks - That's pretty good. I was worried that after buying the GSM communicator, I needed an additional cell carrier line. Tx! Dalyc

Is the GSM communicator compatible with any other panel?

I've got a hard-wired Ademco panel, and I use Vonage VOIP; looking to arrange a alarm monitoring service without replacing my panel.

Brammage,

The GE GSM Module is compatible with the GE Simon 3 and the Concord 4. If you want to use GSM with your Ademco panel, I would suggest the 7845GSM. This is Ademco's GSM Module.

While this will not integrate with your LiveWatch service, it will allow you to report to a Central Station without the need for a phone line.

This service is only $25.00 per month, prepaid annually.

If I have a GE Concord 4 and use the 7845GSM will I be able to use all the features of the Livewatch? Or is there another GSM device I should get? I currently have one with alarm.com. Please advise.

This technology is very useful I suppose for the wireless control over the system. It will increase the efficiency of the security system.
